He obtained a degree in Physics at the University of Kent, Canterbury, England. Accepted into a British aid scheme, ‘Teachers for East Africa, He was trained as a teacher at Makerere University, Kampala, the premier university in East Africa before being assigned to a high
school at Kisubi, Uganda. Two years later in 1973, he returned to Canterbury to study for a Ph.D. in Physics which I finished in 1978. He worked for the British Council, the cultural arm of the British Foreign Service, from 1977 till 1980 a time that overlapped the completion of his Ph.D. Initially in London with their department of Higher Education and then in Belgrade, Serbia, in charge of scientific, medical and engineering exchanges. In 1980, he emigrated to the US and returned to teaching at the undergraduate level with a year at the College of Charleston and two years at Eastern Illinois University before landing up at Rose-Hulman where he currently is full Professor.
