Dr. Ghazi G. Al-Khateeb earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 1991, 1994, respectively, and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001; all in Civil Engineering/Transportation specialty. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Sharjah (01/09/2015-present); on leave from JUST (01/09/2006-present). He was also a visiting associate professor at the American University of Sharjah, UAE (01/09/2014-31/08/2015).
He served as a vice dean of engineering (09/2012-09/2014) and a vice director for the Consultative Center for Science and Technology (09/2009-09/2010) at JUST. During the period (11/2000-08/2006), he worked as a senior research scientist at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center of the FHWA, USA. Dr. Al-Khateeb has published more than 90 papers in international scientific journals and conferences and 2 chapters in a book in his area of expertise. Dr. Al-Khateeb is a member of several national and international professional associations and societies. He serves as a reviewer for more than 15 international indexed and refereed scientific journals and international conferences, and he is an editorial advisory board member at the Cambridge Scholars Publishing and served as a lead guest editor for a special issue: “Innovative Materials, New Design Methods, and Advanced Evaluation Techniques for Sustainable Asphalt Pavements,” published by Hindawi in the International Journal of Advances in Materials Science and Engineering.
